This year SMHA is trying out some new things, starting with adding Karen Luke and Toni Whedon as our Treasurer and Vice President respectively. Their enthusiasm has already led to some good things happening.
In March, following on the from Gary Luke’s well received Trailer Talk last fall, Karen has organized a Trailer Tech. Session. At this session our members can perform some supervised trailer maintenance. See page 7 for more details and RSVP if you are interested. Also if you have a large covered area to host this event let us know.
At our March General Meeting not only will we be having a St. Paddy’s Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner but also a talk from Ferrier Mike Swartz. He will be speaking on the subject of hoof health, some good and timely information during the muddy days of winter.
In the summer we are moving our Jack Brook Horse Camp dates to July, aligned with Monterey Bay Equestrians. They have a similar attendance to ours over the last few years, so there will still be plenty of room for all of us while reducing the cost overhead to the club. Look for an application in next month’s newsletter.
Of course we are looking forward to a stepped up showing in the Morgan Hill July 4th parade with the new vests we are making. Let us know if you are interested in taking part. If you think a crowd desensitization session would help you make a decision on participating, let us know that too.
