SMHA is holding their annual Galloping Goblin Poker Ride and Costume Contest on Saturday November 2nd. The poker ride will take place from 830am – 130pm, with lots of fun prizes to win
Cost is $25.00 for SMHA members and $35.00 for non-members. The poker ride is open to everyone, regardless of membership status. Please see the flyer for full details.

We will be camping in the field, so you’ll need to bring a containment device for your horse, there are no corrals. You can use portable panels, Hi-Tie, ground tie, or tie to the trailer. No high line or tying to trees/fences allowed. There is a water spigot with non-potable water available for the horses. Camping is open to MBE and SMHA members only, $50.00 for two nights, no discounts or prorated fee for late arrival or early departure. No refunds. See the flyer for details.
Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park is an 6,695 acre regional recreation area is nestled in the hills east of Gilroy, CA and features a 449 acre lake for fishing and boating. Hikers, horseback riders and off-road bicyclists can explore over 33 miles of trails that wind through cool oak forests and along breezy ridgelines with wonderful views. At the Bear Ranch Trailhead in San Martin, there is a 2-mile paved loop that is popular with joggers, dog-walkers, and people just wanting to get outside to exercise and get some fresh air.
Directions to Harvey Bear Ranch – from U.S. Highway 101 in San Martin, take the San Martin Ave exit. Proceed east on San Martin Ave for 2 miles. The entrance to the park is on the left, 0.25 mile east of Foothill Avenue, but you need to proceed to the second driveway on the left, just a bit after the main one to enter the old barn/horsecamping area.
